About
iread, ithink, iwrite: i am a doctural student of communication theory, a university lecturer of Media Studies, Digital Media, a freelance research analyst specializing in digital marketing and cultural theory. Sometimes i am a social scientist. now i am an author. i am always fashionable. i hate grammar, but i love the harvard system. i like cats.
I’m researching and writing my own blue skies thesis project at The University of Brighton UK, ‘Branding the Information Society?’ which presents the idea of brands as discourses. I’ve conducted a massive case study of the Apple brand from the 1970s to the present day with consumer interviews to see how far participants rearticulate notions of the information society. I’m also interested in identity, social media, political communication, political engagement and young people, fashion and cats. Outside of my academic work I’m a qualitative researcher, and digital ethnographer diva extraordinaire – interested in any projects to do with cultural insight.
I think I was a cat in a previous life. Poised, glamouress, independent. I love cats too.
Hi! A friend on myspace directed me to your latest blogpost. Having read it and enjoyed it, I wondered if you might like a read of my blog (and a watch of the latest vid): http://littlecatdiaries.blogspot.com
Accompanying book, Under The Paw, is out in June.
Cheers,
TC
Actually, maybe it WAS you who directed me. If so, apologies, and thanks for the links… I wasn’t aware of mycatspace. The amount of these cat networks gets a bit dizzying.
I have a pic of me watching Pride and Prejudice (the lake scene) if you want to add it to your cultured cat pics. Am building up to reading ‘Das Capital’ although it’s not in Ruth’s book collection. She’s going to start me on something easier like ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ and work up.
thanks for the link on Semiotics that you commented on my blog
Hey no worries. Always happy to spread the gospel of the sign!
You sound very interesting Chloe. And a lot smarter than me.
